Summer AND FALL Chinook
Summer run Chinook season starts July 1 on most years and is a 2 to 4 fish limit, depending on the run size and year. This is determined by WDFW. These are absolutely amazing fish with size ranging up to 40 pounds! They are also a quality fish for the grill with nice red meat. These are a very sought after fish with their nice red oily meat and great fighting, then being able to target them in sunny Eastern Washington is a huge bonus. You get a quality salmon with a great fight and sun shing upon you, there is not many places in the world you can do this.
We fish these on the Upper Columbia river from Wannapum Dam all the way to Chief Joseph dam, with some very good fishing in between, including Brewster and Chelan Falls. We catch these fish out of our 23′ Wooldridge sled set up with 4 downriggers, which fishes up to 6 comfortably. We do combo trips to target kings and also sockeye as the seasons overlap. So you can catch a pile of kings and a pile of sockeye in the same day, making for an amazing fishing trip!
